Established with the mission of preserving and continuing Imam Zankawah’s legacy. Following in the steps of Imam Zankawah who for a long time, has had his eyes set on the advancement of education, the Imam Zankawah Foundation has reached out to several under privileged children through its educational support programmes. Under the various schemes, the foundation is funding teaching and learning activities, providing learning materials, and funding the development of infrastructure among others. These support activities have had a material effect in the quality of secular and Islamic education in the communities we operate. We are pushing the boundaries to extend this support to other communities in Northern Ghana where majority of children are poor and deprived of quality education.

A Message
from the founders
We were privileged to grow up under the shadow of a man whose prominence was acknowledged not only in the heart of his family, but in the eyes of an entire community. Under his guidance, all Imam Zankawah’s children and other young people under his care have been educated to higher levels in both secular and Islamic education to give them secured futures. Our father’s kindness, discipline, and drive to propagate education created the desire, or perhaps even the need for us to ensure that the ambitions of Imam Zankawah, inspired by his zealous spirit, live on. Upon careful reflection of what our father has been to his community, and what he represents, we felt that forming the Imam Zankawah Foundation is the most appropriate way to honour his exemplary life.
The task has been very challenging. However, we are motivated by the knowledge that we have embarked on a great and rewarding journey. Our noble father has always been concerned about the education and wellbeing of people within his society and beyond. With great foresight, he was able to empower his children and other members of his community through his relentless effort of encouraging the education of young people. His illustrious life and campaign for education has been a source of inspiration and enlightenment to many. IZF aims to give impetus to his vision of transforming lives and communities true education. Through our extensive range of programmes and activities, we hope to reach out to dozens of children who are in desperate need of quality education to improve both their social and spiritual wellbeing. With the generosity of private donations, we are able to help more children. This is our motivation, and one that gives us all the most satisfaction.
